A week or so at sea, a few great ports, and nothing to organise once you're on board. This 10-night sailing from Galveston on January 31, 2028 visits Celebration Key, Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk Island and Puerto Plata (Amber Cove). The sea days come first, which means no rushing to get off the ship on day one. You hit the ports relaxed and ready. The route threads through 3 countries along the Bahamas coast: Bahamas, Turks & Caicos Islands and Dominican Republic. Don't rush through Puerto Plata (Amber Cove), which is known as Dominican amber and Atlantic waves. With about 8 hours at each port, you'll want a plan, or at least a shortlist. There are 15 restaurants on Carnival Sunshine, so you'd need to double up a few evenings to try them all in 10 nights. With more nights comes more time for the ship's rhythm to kick in: morning coffee in the same spot, evening shows, late-night conversations on deck. Galveston itself is worth spending some time in. Don't just treat it as a departure point. All told, 4 ports across 10 nights covers a lot.
