Golden Shore – Nice, Portofino & Rome
About this cruise
No complicated itinerary, no back-to-back transfers, just the ports, the ship, and the sea in between. This 7-night sailing from Barcelona on July 10, 2027 visits Villefranche-sur-Mer, Portofino, La Spezia, Civitavecchia (Rome) and Naples. A few ports come in quick succession, which is great for sightseeing but means you'll appreciate the sea days when they arrive. Roman ruins at one stop, Renaissance piazzas at the next. Centuries of history at every quay. Portofino stands out. It's Italy's most photographed fishing village. Around 11 hours per port on average, which is generous enough to go beyond the obvious. Celebrity Xcel joined the Celebrity Cruises's lineup in 2025. Still has that new-ship feel. Families and groups will find plenty to do: waterslides, shows, multiple pools, and something for every age. If you can, add a night in Barcelona before boarding. It's a good city to wander. The timing works well too: warm evenings on deck, late sunsets, and a lively atmosphere. All in all, it's a solid trip.
