Icelandic Wonders – Reykjavik & Lerwick
About this cruise
Long enough to properly switch off but not so long you need to reorganise your entire life. This 7-night sailing from Reykjavik on August 16, 2026 visits Isafjordur, Akureyri, Lerwick, Leith (Edinburgh) and Southampton. You finish in Southampton. In between port days, the 2 sea days are where cruise life actually happens: reading, eating, napping, repeat. Stone-walled harbours, cream teas, and rain that clears just long enough for the view to be worth it. Leith (Edinburgh) alone is worth the trip, Edinburgh's dockside neighbourhood of character. Roughly 9 hours ashore per stop. No need to rush. Norwegian Star takes the food seriously, with 13 restaurants to choose from. 4 are included, and the rest are worth the splurge. Long enough that you stop checking your phone. Short enough that you're not bored. And August means long, warm days. Good for the ports, good for the pool. Worth booking. That's the short version.
