Sunken Pillars & Citadel Gates – Ephesus, Athens & Barcelona
About this cruise
You come back from a trip like this actually rested, not just "I went on vacation" rested. 14 nights from Civitavecchia (Rome) on April 23, 2028, visiting Naples, Palermo and Souda (Chania), with additional stops along the Eastern Mediterranean. You get off in Barcelona, which is a good excuse to tack on a few days on land. Expect a run of consecutive ports, 11 stops total, with the busiest days packed close together. The sea days around them feel earned. The Eastern Mediterranean route takes in Italy, Greece, Türkiye, Montenegro and Spain, 5 countries, and the differences show up in the food, the architecture, and the mood. Don't rush through Messina, which is known as Sicily's gateway to Mount Etna and Taormina. Roughly 11 hours ashore per stop. No need to rush. Sun Princess launched in 2024, so everything on board is still new. You can tell. With more nights comes more time for the ship's rhythm to kick in: morning coffee in the same spot, evening shows, late-night conversations on deck. Families and groups will find plenty to do: waterslides, shows, multiple pools, and something for every age. If you can, add a night in Civitavecchia (Rome) before boarding. It's a good city to wander. And April is a good time to go. Mild weather, things starting to bloom, and fewer people than summer. All told, 11 ports across 14 nights covers a lot.
