The itinerary clusters several port calls together. Fast-paced for a few days, then the sea days hit and you can catch your breath. The Bahamas are close enough for a quick trip and warm enough that it always feels worth it. You get around 8 hours in each port, which is enough for an excursion, lunch, and some wandering around on your own. When you're not ashore, There are 15 restaurants on Carnival Sunshine, so you'd need to double up a few evenings to try them all in 6 nights. An August departure puts you in the best summer conditions: long days, warm nights, plenty of sun. You start in Norfolk and come back with stories from Bimini, Nassau and Celebration Key.
