Canary Islands & Madeira – Rome to Las Palmas
About this cruise
11 nights starts to feel like a proper adventure. You leave Civitavecchia (Rome) on December 7, 2026 and the route takes you through Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Santa Cruz de la Palma, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Puerto del Rosario, Funchal and Arrecife at a pace where there's never any need to rush. Disembarkation is in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. You ease into this one, with a few sea days up front to find your rhythm before the 6 port calls start. Black-sand beaches on one island, dense laurel forests on another. The Canaries are surprisingly varied. If one port sticks with you, it'll probably be Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Where Teide watches over the harbour. Around 11 hours per port on average, which is generous enough to go beyond the obvious. MSC Fantasia takes the food seriously, with 5 restaurants to choose from. 2 are included, and the rest are worth the splurge. There are enough performances, events, and social mixers on a cruise this length that you couldn't do them all if you tried. And that's a good problem. Families and groups will find plenty to do: waterslides, shows, multiple pools, and something for every age. A December sailing is basically an excuse to chase the sun for a week or two. It's the kind of trip you actually remember afterwards.
