Glacial Blue Drift – Skagway & Juneau
About this cruise
If you've got 14 nights to work with, this sailing from Vancouver on June 27, 2027 through Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay, Whittier and Hubbard Glacier is genuinely one of the better ways to spend them. A few ports come in quick succession, which is great for sightseeing but means you'll appreciate the sea days when they arrive. Even the open-water days are scenic here, with mountains on either side and blue ice in the distance. People come back from this cruise talking about Skagway: Gold Rush spirit in a fjord-locked town. Around 11 hours per port on average, which is generous enough to go beyond the obvious. Nieuw Amsterdam takes the food seriously, with 9 restaurants to choose from. 5 are included, and the rest are worth the splurge. The longer time on board means you'll catch several shows, themed nights, and start feeling like a regular at your favourite bar. This one's for people who really want to switch off. No half measures. Block out the calendar. The timing works well too: warm evenings on deck, late sunsets, and a lively atmosphere. 6 ports, one suitcase. That's the appeal.
