Sunken Empires Voyage – Rhodes, Cairo & Split
About this cruise
Long enough to properly switch off but not so long you need to reorganise your entire life. This 10-night sailing from Venice on November 4, 2026 visits Katakolon, Heraklion and Rhodes, with additional stops along the Eastern Mediterranean. Disembarkation is in Split. Ports up front, sea days at the end. By the time you're back in Venice, you'll feel properly rested rather than rushed. Crossing 4 borders through the Eastern Mediterranean: Greece, Cyprus, Egypt and Croatia. You'll notice the culture shift at every stop. If one port sticks with you, it'll probably be Katakolon, Gateway to ancient Olympia. Roughly 10 hours ashore per stop. No need to rush. MSC Lirica takes the food seriously, with 5 restaurants to choose from. 4 are included, and the rest are worth the splurge. The shows alone are worth the extra nights. You'll catch comedy, music, theatre, and themed evenings you'd miss on a shorter trip. Long enough that you stop checking your phone. Short enough that you're not bored. And November is a good call. Still warm, less crowded, and usually cheaper too. It's the kind of trip you actually remember afterwards.
