Alaska Glacier Trail – Hubbard & Juneau
About this cruise
A week or so at sea, a few great ports, and nothing to organise once you're on board. This 7-night sailing from Whittier on August 17, 2026 visits Hubbard Glacier, Icy Strait Point, Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan and Vancouver. You get off in Vancouver, which is a good excuse to tack on a few days on land. Expect a run of consecutive ports, 6 stops total, with the busiest days packed close together. The sea days around them feel earned. Glaciers calving into the water, bald eagles overhead, and air that smells like pine. It's a different kind of cruise. Don't rush through Skagway, which is known as Gold Rush spirit in a fjord-locked town. Roughly 10 hours ashore per stop. No need to rush. There are 13 restaurants on Norwegian Jade, so you'd need to double up a few evenings to try them all in 7 nights. Whittier itself is worth spending some time in. Don't just treat it as a departure point. And August means long, warm days. Good for the ports, good for the pool. All told, 6 ports across 7 nights covers a lot.
